Wine and Luxury in Austin

Austin, Texas is known for its eclectic music scene. The show “Austin City Limits” highlights some of the best in music and is taped in the city. With a variety of celebrities also making their home in Austin, there is a great interest in Texas luxury homes. But the area is also becoming known for its wine. Like much of Texas, Austin is seeing a renewed interest in the viticulture through the Texas wine trails. New luxury homes and new wine bars/restaurants are being constructed.

One of the premier destinations for luxury is downtown Austin. This is the top destinations for executives and professionals who are on the ladder to success. The luxury homes in downtown Austin are actually apartments and condominiums. Many prefer a condo or apartment because they are easier to maintain and in some cases provide just enough room. However many are larger than some homes.

Like New York City, Austin also sells apartment space. You can’t think of luxury homes in Austin without thinking of Lake Travis. Sandra Bullock once had a home here. The lake area is a mixture of luxury homes and resorts including sprawling mansions and luxury condominiums on the lake. Many have vacation homes here. Lake Travis is located just west of Austin. The pristine lake is considered one of the clearest in Texas.

Luxury home owners who want to know more about the Texas viticulture can attend a seminar to learn more. The Grapevine Market offers wine tasting seminars weekly. You can learn more about wine in a variety of classes that are offered. In the classes, you can explore international wines, including those from the vineyards of Italy.

Austin continues to attract new residents. In 2009, Money Magazine named Austin as the third Best Big City in its “Best Places to Live” rankings. With the increased interest in the viticulture and luxury living, Austin is becoming known for more than its music.
